About Found Crew Recruitment

At Found Crew Recruitment, we believe the right crew placement is about far more than simply filling a vacancy.

Yachts are unique environments where professionalism, trust, personality, and work ethic all need to align. A technically qualified candidate is important – but finding someone who genuinely fits the program, leadership style, and onboard culture is what makes a placement successful long term.

After spending years working within the yachting industry, we saw firsthand how frustrating the recruitment process can sometimes be. Too often, hiring captains are sent long lists of CVs with very little context, while talented crew struggle to find programs where they actually belong.

Somewhere along the way, recruitment became a numbers game. We prefer a different approach.

Built by People Who Know the Industry

Found Crew Recruitment was created by people who have worked within the industry themselves.

Between us, we have vast experience working on board yachts across both private and charter programs, giving us a firsthand understanding of what captains and owners expect when it comes to professionalism, standards and crew dynamics.

Having lived the realities of life onboard, we understand how important it is to find crew who not only have the right qualifications, but who genuinely fit the program and the team around them.

Because the wrong hire doesn’t just affect the schedule – it affects the entire boat.

A More Thoughtful Way to Recruit

Rather than sending a stack of CVs and hoping one sticks, we take the time to understand both sides of the equation – the vessel and the candidate.

That means understanding things like:

  • The pace of the program
  • The leadership style onboard
  • Crew dynamic and culture

Because placing a technically qualified candidate who doesn’t fit the program rarely ends well.

And nobody enjoys repeating the hiring process three months later.

Quality Over Quantity

Our approach is simple.

We interview candidates properly.

We conduct real reference checks.

And we present a small shortlist of people we believe genuinely align with the program.

Not 40 CVs and a “good luck”.

Captains already have enough on their plate without turning recruitment into a second full-time job.
